Overview
Once in a while, a project comes along which we know we’re going to love. When Harry contacted us and explained that the Council were looking to create a series of stories around fostering, we knew this would be one of those projects. Starting from scratch, we set about developing a brief that would seek to offer potential future service-users, with an honest appraisal of how fostering can benefit them.
Through animation and interviews, the campaign would explore the experiences of those involved in fostering through Newcastle City Council. To provide a level of anonymity to the contributors, we developed a treatment that would be both sensitive, stylish and compassionate. Each contributor would be interviewed, chatting informally with us about their experiences of fostering. Beautifully delivered and often emotionally charged, we would then start the process of creating a short yet balanced story from each person. Animator would then begin to imagine how those scenes could be depicted. Working closely with Harry’s team, we sought to create imagery that would sensitively reflect user journeys, communicating memories from their childhood and beyond.
The 3 videos will be shared both on social media, be accessed through the council website and presented during face to face meetings. We really enjoyed this one and hope we can go on to develop and deliver further stories with the team at Newcastle City Council.
